Ceremonial Tandem Lomi Massage

Service Description

This ancient form of Lomilomi came from Old Hawaii where it was offered in the temples as a ceremonial rite of passage for those stepping into leadership rules to bring the receiver into alignment within themselves and within their community. It was offered for at least 10 hours, up to 24 hours/day for 14 days with 1-5 Kahunas working on the body, accompanied with live drumming. Today, even without the whole ceremony, these sessions are still offered a sacred rite of passage, allowing the old version of ourself to die to the new. This style is offered with 1 practitioner or in Tandem (4-hands) format with 2 practitioners. In my standard Tandem Lomi Massage, we work in synchronicity, Here there is no routine, no intention to fix, heal, or solve anything. The 2 practitioners are simply in motion with whatever arises, allowing ourselves to feel everything that is present, and welcoming all parts of ourselves to be heard and honored. With four hands moving around the body in harmony, the mind is lulled into a trance, and deep healing can take place. You may experience, messages, intuitions, visions, or feelings. Please allow time and space after this session for integration. It is not advisable to return to work after receiving this work, or to consume mind-altering substances to allow your body a chance to experience being in a new resonance. Due to the extra coordination required to have two practitioners, these sessions cannot be booked online.
